As one enters the front door and passes through the inside portals, a memorial tablet immediately attracts the attention. The new-comer pauses to read, then to admire the building. Beneath the placque are numerous volumes of the reference works from the private Atwater Library. As though on guard, stand two inlaid oriental guns from the Capt. Hunt collection. To the right may be seen the Atwater coat of arms, and the Atwater carved oaken chair.
